The Nature of Produce
When you eat a lot of cherries--
when you go to the store
craving them, but it's off season,
so they're eight bucks a pound--
And you really want them
That--that--is when they're not the best,
just OK. Until you bite into a rotten one,
or a bitter one, because you weren't paying
attention. I mean, pay attention for eight
fucking dollars a pound.
When they're cheap, in the summer,
they might be really good,
but they mold faster.
Eat them all. Carefully.
It's what Jesus would do.
