Kill the Spammers
Spam: it’s one of many things I have never understood about our society. It’s an extreme form of the already annoying advertising, which, for some reason, people think is the solution to everything. Want something to be free? Advertising. Let’s not even think about a less annoying solution. Anyway, spam is ten times more annoying because it’s all over the place and you know it’s not at all possible that it’s legit.
But spam cannot possibly be effective, can it? If I come to my blog and have to edit out 80 or so comments about insurance on one entry (and the spam is always on that one entry), what does that serve? None of my three readers ever saw them, and I sure as hell hate whoever posted it and whatever company they are hawking for. So why bother? It’s not like my blog is popular.
Then there’s the fact that spammers hit you with so much at once there’s no way to even possibly pay attention to it. It’s like they are trying to annoy you, and they have no other goal. Perhaps that is it. But I think if that were my goal in life I would have to kill myself.
We probably should just kill these people. And the people who make malware, spyware, and viruses. What do they contribute to society? Nothing. In fact they take away. They are evil. Lock them up, at least.
What do we do, though? We act like they’re just a nuisance. We try to ignore that they even exist, as if they are some spoiled child trying to get our attention. They are not just annoying. They’re trying to scam people. It may be completely pointless and almost never work, but they are still horrible people who should not be allowed to continue on their current path of evil.
Evil must be stopped.
